Giant Sea Turtles at Sukamade (2D/1N)

Founded in 1927 by a Dutch explorer, Sukamade is part of the Meru Betiri National Park in East Java. For thousands of years it has provided an undisturbed breeding sanctuary for a few species of giant sea turtle that live in the Pacific and Indian Oceans. Join us on an unforgettable adventure by jeep through plantations, jungle and rivers to this very remote location for the rare opportunity to see these beautiful creatures in their natural habitat. This 2-day experience includes an overnight stay in a guesthouse.

Itinerary :

Day 1 Itinerary:

08.00 – Depart from the hotel.
11.00 – Arrive at Meru Betiri National Park and trek to a hidden beach called Teluk Hijau (Green Bay).
12.00 – Enjoy an open-air picnic lunch in the jungle.
13.00 – Continue on to Sukamade.
14.00 – Arrive at Sukamade breeding ground and take a rest at a guesthouse before the night activities.
18.00 – Dinner.
19.00 – Witness turtles arriving on the beach to lay their eggs. You may also be able to release some of the hatched turtles into the ocean.
22.00 – Return to the guesthouse and overnight stay

Day 2 Itinerary:

07.00 – Breakfast
08.00 – Drive to Rajegwesi fishermen's village to see the life of local people make their living by sailing and fishing on the open ocean.
09.00 – Depart from Rajegwesi fishermen's village.
14.00 – Arrive back at the hotel.
